Yellow Brick Road Expansion
We built the original Yellow Brick Road Casino back in 2015. In an ongoing effort to provide exciting entertainment options for patrons, the Oneida Indian Nation brought us back to renovate and expand the casino, taking over the Nation's neighboring liquor store, Tin Woodman's Flask, which we renovated back in 2017. Over nine months, we worked in phases to complete a substantial amount of work under challenging schedules. Here's a rough timeline of some of the major construction milestones:
- Phase I: June-August, 2019 Renovation for new sports book bar/lounge, the largest in the state!
- Phase II: Mid August-Mid October, 2019 Casino floor refresh, including new paint, lighting, and flooring
- Phase III: November 2019 Renovated the interior restaurant, Dorothy's Farmhouse, to convert it into a new Burgers of Madison County
- Phase IV: December 2019-early February 2020 Renovation of roughly 38,000 square feet to make way for bowling lanes, Topgolf, a new bar and gaming area for pool and shuffleboard. Also during this time, Wicked Good Pizza remained open, closing for just a single week where we added new equipment, fresh paint and tile flooring, a new counter, new underground plumbing, and a soffit above the counter.
To meet deadlines, we had close to 50 people working on site per day. Because the casino remained open during construction, we worked in relatively small areas and phased the construction to minimize disruption to patrons. We will continue with some exterior work this spring.
Nice work to our project team who never wavered under pressure: Maggie Werts, Bob Mastro, Bob Young, Craig Duda, Conor Utter, and Demetrius Pettway
