Introducing High School Students to construction Careers

Mohawk Valley Community College partnered with a local high school to bring a group of students interested in potential careers in construction, engineering, and architecture to tour our job site at Utica College.

Fittingly, the job is for a new building to fit the growing construction management program. After suiting up in Hayner Hoyt PPE gear, the students got to see masonry work and steel detailing happening in real time and were impressed at what will be a quick turnaround time for the build. From groundbreaking to when we turn over the keys, the construction will be completed in about seven months.

Thanks to Terri Anderson, our HR Director, and Eric Taber, the Project Superintendent, for conducting the tour.
