Syracuse University Dome Stadium Roof Replacement
ARCHITECT
Geiger Engineers
SCOPE
The new roof is a cable truss system clad with a mix of tension membrane and rigid panels to allow for natural light in the 250,000 sq ft arena. An external steel crown truss supports the pre-existing concrete ring beam and is designed to support more than 7,000 tons of snow. This iconic addition to the Syracuse skyline was completed on schedule in time for the football home opener, despite challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic.
